We are the civic initiative group IOT4NATURE, passionate about environmental protection and citizen science projects. We designed this pilot program to initiate an awareness and information campaign regarding the importance of air quality in schools and surrounding study areas.
Alexandru Luchiian is the coordinator of the group and brings extensive experience from various environmental projects focused on monitoring and observing pollution in nature (both water and air). He is the founder of the projects www.stropdeaer.ro and www.stropderoua.ro, implementing technical solutions to address environmental challenges or guiding student teams through mentoring and training in the development of technical projects.
Romelia Suciu is a communication and marketing expert who has been responsible for promoting and managing the administrative aspects of the projects mentioned above.
Alina Chiriac is an actively engaged citizen in both the local and national community, organizing annual clean-up and environmental restoration activities in protected areas and natural zones where human presence—intentional or not—puts local ecosystems at risk.
“The Air in Our School” is a pilot project born from the collaboration and support of ING and the Cluj Community Foundation, whose essential contributions helped turn this idea into reality. The project aims to grow into a broader educational network, open to all schools interested in environmental protection and understanding air quality, with the vision that this local initiative will become a national model for awareness and civic engagement.
