🧠 Why should we care about the air around us?
Have you ever felt tired, had a headache, or felt sleepy in class? It’s not always from lack of sleep. The air in the classroom plays a big role!
💊 Common pollutants and their effects:
| Pollutant | Where does it come from? | What does it do to us? |
|---|---|---|
| PM2.5 | dust, smoke from stoves, traffic | Irritates lungs, causes coughing, tiredness |
| CO2 | human breathing, poor ventilation | Makes us tired, lowers focus |
| NOx | traffic gases, heating systems | Irritates nose, eyes, lungs |
🫁 How does polluted air enter our body?
When we breathe:
air enters through the nose or mouth,
goes to the lungs,
oxygen enters the blood,
but pollutants also enter and can harm the body.
🎨 Activity: Infographic “Air’s Journey in the Body”
Follow a picture that shows how air travels through the body:
From the nose to the trachea, bronchi, and lungs.
Where pollution can cause damage.
You can draw this path or color an existing diagram. Identify the areas most affected by pollutants.
📅 Case study: “How do students feel during class?”
Each student records:
How they feel in the morning, noon, and afternoon
Is the window open?
Do they feel tired or have a headache?
Compare the results in class and discuss what changes could help.
🤔 What did you learn?
Pollutants can harm the body even if we can’t see them.
High CO2 in closed spaces lowers attention and focus.
Clean air helps us stay healthy and alert.
